A ribbon cutting ceremony held Thursday, Feb. 12 marked the opening of new dining, nursing and rehabilitation space within the Skilled Nursing Center at the Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community, 1700 Normandie Drive.
Albright Care Services Chief Operating Officer Doug Flasher delivered opening remarks which included thanking the project’s general contractor, Kinsley Construction Company, and RLPS Architects, followed by a prayer led by David Brinker, chaplain of Normandie Ridge.
Albright President and Chief Executive Officer Shaun Smith continued the message of gratitude while thanking the residents and staff for their patience and ability to adapt to the transforming surroundings during the three construction phases.
Smith dedicated the space to the “past, present, and future residents of Normandie Ridge”, and said the renovation would enhance Albright’s mission of exceptional care and abundant living.
The renovated space includes two new dining facilities, a conference room, fireplace lounge, recreation space and updated nursing station, all designed to better meet the needs of both long and short term residents. The updated design matches the exceptional level of care provided at Normandie Ridge, while helping residents to feel at home.
The new dining facility includes a country kitchen and traditional dining space with tables that surround a fireplace. The country kitchen offers a casual dining atmosphere with a bar area where residents can watch food being prepared, a way to stimulate the senses. The recreation space leads into the Serenity Garden and offers a piano for entertainment, while the conference room provides space for care planning, family gatherings, staff meetings and other multipurpose use.
